Q. Can you ensure Xkelex substructure is compatible with the panel manufacturer’s tested assemblies?
A. Yes. We designed Xkelex substructure to align with multiple manufacturer’s NFPA-285 tested assemblies. Contact us with your panel and manufacturer’s name.
Q. Do you have thermally broken substructure systems?
A. Yes. We have several thermally broken options. Take a look at our subframing systems. Every product detail page notes whether it can be thermally broken. Or contact us to talk with an expert. We designed Xkelex architectural panel substructure systems to be flexible, cost-effective, and meet a wide variety of requirements.
Q. Is Xkelex subframing corrosion-resistant?
Yes. Xkelex subframing systems use architectural grade 6063-T5 extruded aluminum alloy material powder-coated to a black finish. The substructure is corrosion-resistant and does not promote cathodic corrosion due to using dissimilar materials. For exposed fastening systems, we recommend using stainless steel color-matched fasteners to extend the life of the architectural cladding.
Q. Is Xkelex subframing environmentally friendly or recyclable?
A. Yes, and yes. Xkelex aluminum substructures are nearly 100% recyclable. The aluminum may also contribute to LEED calculations for the architect and owner. And Xkelex components are often more durable than the cladding attached to them. All Xkelex subframing is installed as a rainscreen – known for extending the life of a building façade – contributing to a long-lasting building exterior.
